FAMC Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct is in place to ensure a safe and positive environment for all FAMC members and their families. These guidelines should be followed in all club-related activities both in person and online.

  1. Everyone is responsible for their own child/children's behavior and overall safety (see more below).

  2. Please don’t use obscene or abusive language/gestures.

  3. We support each other - no gossiping about other members.

  4. Always be considerate and respectful to other people’s property.

  5. Please don’t smoke or vape at any FAMC event or outing.

  6. Nursing of infants or toddlers is perfectly acceptable at any club function. It should be facilitated as needed and not discouraged in any way.

  7. RSVP to events in a timely manner and let the host know if you cannot attend.

For the Children: While there is no right or wrong way of parenting, for the safety of all members and children the following should be adhered to when at FAMC events:

-Remove your child/children from the immediate area when disciplining..

-Aggressive behavior (such as hitting or biting) will not be tolerated. If your child does this, it is your responsibility to discourage this behaviour and remove them from the event if it persists.

-If a child becomes overly aggressive towards other children, a verbal warning may be issued to the child’s mother by the host or a board member. A warning will only be issued if:

• An adult witnessed the incident.

• The incident appeared to be intentional rather than accidental.

When assessing whether an infraction has occurred, it is crucial to exercise discretion and good judgment. In the event of a formal

complaint, it must be submitted in writing to an Executive Board member within three days of the incident. The Executive Board

will carefully review all aspects of the matter and take a vote on any necessary actions. Once a decision has been reached, an

Executive Board member will inform all parties involved of the outcome.

Disciplinary Actions:

If any of the above rules are violated, the following measures will be taken. (Please note that all decisions are final and non-

negotiable.)

• 1st incident will result in a verbal and written warning.

• 2nd incident within a 12-month period will result in a 30-day suspension from participation in any FAMC function.

• 3rd incident within a 12-month period will result in a 6-month suspension from participation in any FAMC function.

• 4th incident within a 12-month period will result in dismissal from the FAMC.

Mothers are responsible for their children’s behavior and safety at all FAMC functions. Participation in ALL FAMC activities requires a signed copy of this Code of Conduct.
